Who We Are
We are people who are passionate about our community, the environment, and giving gently used items a second home.
What We Do
We source items locally from our generous community
Donations of gently used items are gladly accepted during business hours!
In addition: we offer a local pick-up service for large donations with-in Niagara Falls when available. This service has been utilized by many of our local residents during the summer months to pick up the remnants of Saturday Garage Sales, Moves, Storage Lockers, etc.
How we give back
Each month we choose a different organization or cause to become our cause of the month. At the completion of each month, we support that organization with a monetary donation. These funds are then free to be used by the organizations however they see fit.
What else does Evergreen Thrift Store do for the community?
We have adopted two local parks! Grey Robinson Park was officially adopted by Evergreen Thrift Store in June of 2020. Don Johnson Park will be officially adopted by the shop around June 23, 2022. We have now cleaned up both green spaces on several occasions. We document all of the instances on our Social Media pages.
What does Evergreen Thrift Store do for the Environment?
We give thousands of items a second home every week! Our resources our limited in this world, and it is crucial to re-use wherever possible (although reducing your resource use is the best).
We aim to send nothing to the landfill. While this is an impossible task in practice, we get as close as we can. We routinely only produce one or two garbage bags per week, while utilizing our recycling bins to the max. Come and inspect what we put out on garbage day to see for yourself.
All textiles that are unfit for sale are bagged and sold to a textile recycler.
All electronics and metal items that are not saleable are sorted, and brought to a salvage yard.
We also recycle batteries at the shop. Feel free to bring in your expired batteries during your next visit.
Unsold items and those that are unfit for a price tag (but still may have value) are given away for free in our “Free Stuff Bin” located outside the shop.
We have volunteered at other Thrift Stores prior to opening our own and were disappointed how so many of them take the convenient way out in disposing things. The garbage dumpsters at these establishments were often filled with items that could have either been recycled or otherwise properly disposed of. We vow to never take the easy way out in this regard.
Drop your unwanted goods off and receive a coupon for the shop!
Every donation of your unwanted goods to our store receives a coupon for $10 off a $25 purchase.
